INCLUSIVE AND DIGITAL EDUCATION

ELAPSED TIME AND LEADERS AS A FUNCTION OF TIME

The first quarter of 2022 is ending. This March, the pandemic enters a new phase due to the progress of science and technology, and a war between nations unveils an obvious fact: Liberal Democracies and State Interventionism are out of sync, making it difficult to find diplomatic solutions through the market.

Socio-economic and socio-environmental problems are facing evidence that demands urgent action. Governments have frayed the social fabric and class inequality can no longer be remedied; the environment has also warned governments that the level of tolerance for the greenhouse effect has run out.

The time for procrastination is behind us. Forward we have only the time for reason. There are so many priorities that we have to make choices. The problems are intertwined, which leads us to dive into our essence to trigger a transformative process. At the core of CWIST is education against a backdrop where the capital markets highlight the agendas via the ESG. Education is, in CWIST's view, the starting point for public policies to aim at a less unequal world. We will not ignore emergency needs regarding public health and food security that must follow a parallel course.

In CWIST's view, it is the private sector that should guide public policies. The "gap" between public and private schools became much more pronounced with the pandemic, and the recession accelerated the school dropout rate among the less favored classes. Here there is no longer a dilemma, but rather to make time an ally to promote transformations:

  • Reconcile technology with schools' physical infrastructure with social impact investment. 
  • Partnerships between public and private schools with civil society engagement and access to hardware and soft skill. 
  • Value the role of the teacher who also needs adequate training to adapt to inclusive and digital education. 
  • And finally, a basic concept of conscious capitalism, the sustainability of private initiative that should supply the public deficits and still generate surpluses.

The private sector is paying attention to the facts, as shown in Lehman Foundation Research and other civil society organizations such as All for Education, Peninsula Institute e Instituto Unibanco demonstrate proactivity.

CWIST has embraced this cause and supports edtech XPLABOa startup that brings teachers and students, schools and families closer together through Augmented Reality, favoring social inclusion through inclusive education. The project was incubated at the Technology Park of São José dos Campos (SP), accelerated by NEXUS and has resources from the Informatics Law generated by SAMSUNG. We are also accelerated in France in the program Startups à l'Ecole.

Time is the continuous period in which events take place. Contexts change, but the problem persists. CWIST is ready to voluntarily join the NGOs whose education is the cause that inspires its purpose.
